Top 3 Things You Should Be Eating at Universal Orlando This Week (January 23rd, 2022)

Welcome to another edition of “Top 3 Things.” As I examine the food options in between holiday food season and waiting for Mardi Gras dining choices, there exists lots of options. Though Universal Orlando gets grief about the quality of food, the overall quality rates far better in last 8-years and merits higher praise.

Our first stop today comes from our beloved themed doughnut place in CityWalk, Voodoo Doughnut. Though we expect a themed Mardi Gras doughnut to be released soon, Voodoo Doughnut blessed us with a new treat of late.  A Go-Tart appeared on the menu. This raised yeast bar delights guest with strawberry filling. Also, this bakery treat earns valuable dipping within vanilla frosting. Of course, since they want me to try it, they gave a modicum of round sprinkles. Yes, I am still a sucker for sprinkles on doughnuts. This treat costs $3.75. Look out for a full review of this treat in a few weeks.

Over at Universal Studios Florida, changes happened to menu at Bumblebee Man’s Taco Truck. My preferred taco, the Korean Beef taco, has vacated the menu premises. In its place, Carnitas tacos adorn the menu board. These new tacos feature roasted pork shoulder. Early reviews indicate taste quality remains high. The toppings feature onions and cilantro. These tacos with tortillas chips cost $11.99. For the increased price, choice of red or green salsa has been added.

Finally, our last stop this week takes us near the All Hallows “Voodoo” Boutique in Lost Continent area of Islands of Adventure. If dining quick service in Lost Continent, I suggest bypassing Doc Sugrue’s Desert Kebab House. Your better quick service option in Lost Continent stays Fire Eater’s Grill. There guests purchase a more budget friendly entree known as the gyro. No matter how you pronounce this menu item, the taste and value persist. The gyro comes in traditional (lamb) variety or falafel for vegetarian version. The sides provided are fries or hummus.

Thanks again for reading this week’s installment of the “Top 3.” I will be back next week for more tasty goodness for you to enjoy within Universal Orlando Resort.
