In Florida it is always fun to enjoy a nice swim while the tropical heat fills the air. But every so often when the winter season hits the rest of the country the southern and more tropical part of the continent is effected. That is happening right now, and is leading to the temporary closure of one of Disney’s water parks.
The aptly named “Blizzard Beach”, a water park themed around snow, ice and Christmas, is feeling the cool and cold breezes that make the waters too chilly. Not to mention the wind chill will make someone who is already wet feel quite cold.
The park will reopen once the temperature evens out. Of course this isn’t the first time this happened. The park was also shut about a week ago for the same reason. Hopefully these closures won’t be that frequent as I am sure many Floridians and out of state visitors want to swim and get some sun after being locked up all last year and some of this year.
As for Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach’s sister park, has yet to reopen. The shipwreck themed water park has been closed for some time and it could possibly be due to reconstruction. Hopefully it will reopen by spring of next year.
