Disney has now officially moved the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (TTA) into the refurbishment category for the next few months.
Now if you go through the Walt Disney World park hour calendar, the attraction shows it’s closed for refurbishment with the Walt Disney World Railroad. It doesn’t appear to be out of refurbishment until November 1st. So it could be closed until Halloween.
The TTA PeopleMover has become a very popular attraction over the past few years. Before the COVID-19 pandemic closure, the attraction was already closed down. There had been smoke pouring down the conveyor escalator one evening and there was another incident where ride vehicles ran into each other.
Recently there was a rumor that indicated the attraction would be shut down all summer for extensive refurbishment and replacement of the magnetic motors along the track. At least the part about the attraction being shut down the rest of the summer turned out to be true.
I can’t wait for it to reopen. It’s one of my kids favorites.
