Ticket Pre-Sales For ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Crashes Multiple Websites

Tickets for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home recently went on sale and multiple ticket sites such as Fandango and AMC have gone down due to the high traffic volume. The excitement fans have for this film hasn’t been seen since Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. This is definitely a good sign for movie theaters ever since the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic shut down theaters for almost an entire year.

The upcoming Spider-Man film is being considered the next big event for comic book films as it is a celebration of Spider-Man movies over the past two decades with the Sam Rami Spider-Man Trilogy and Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man Duology.

Of course the appearance of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man have been rumored, however, this has not been confirmed, but fans are hoping.

The Marvel Multiverse has made it seem as if any past iteration of a Marvel character can now appear in the MCU. Some have speculated if any further crossovers are possible in the future.

But there is one big catch to this excitement, which is that many of the tickets are being scalped online vie resale sites such as eBay. Some tickets are being sold for thousands of dollars.

It’s important to note that some theaters were offering incentives for going opening night that is also driving up some of the prices. AMC for example were offering 86,000 NFTs to members of some of their premiere access groups, Like Stubs, A-List, and Investor Connect, that ordered tickets for the December 16th opening.

Ticket scalpers are taking full advantage of the hype for this film without missing a beat. Many fans online are pretty upset that they most likely won’t be able to secure tickets for opening night of the film and will have to wait while risking being spoiled on what happens. Hopefully the issue can be resolved as soon as possible when the ticket pre-sales come back online.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is being projected to be one of the highest grossing post-pandemic films at the box office and will possibly break over $1 Billion during its lifetime. Though certain states and overseas countries still have restrictions on theaters so that will impact the film’s overall gross.

Are you excited for the film? Are you planning on seeing it opening night?
