According to the tweet they will start filming at Manhattan Beach Studios in just nine days.
The six months filming time is actually longer than what the other seasons have been, so who knows what that indicates. They could be simply allowing themselves more time with potential pandemic issues that could temporarily shut down filming and put them behind. This way they give themselves a cushion.
With the filming running into March we could be looking at ‘The Mandalorian’ season 3 around the end of 2022 or possibly early 2023. Given they like to release these shows around November my guess is next year.
Of course this is all rumor and speculation. We also have the “Obi-Wan Kenobi’ show and ‘Andor’ both of which are slated 2022 as well. Which could push back ‘The Mandalorian’ season 3 release as well.
Who knows, but it does seem that the filming will begin very shortly. It will be interesting to see what they do given that Grogu just left with Luke Skywalker and now Mando is without his little companion.
