The Land Pavilion At EPCOT Temporarily Closes Due To Electrical Issue

The well known Land Pavilion at EPCOT is currently closed. It was stated that the official reason for the closure was an undisclosed electrical issue. It is unknown how severe the damage is and as of this time we don’t know when it will re-open to the public.

The Land Pavilion opened in 1982 as an opening area in the Future World West section now known as World Nature. The section of the park was meant to focus as a center where guests can learn how we humans interact with nature itself. From food to plants to animals and discovering the circle of life. The section not only offers a large and expansive food court with plenty of healthy options, but also a handful of attractions.

The first attraction, Living with the Land, is a boat ride taking you on a journey of seeing how humans interact with nature and take advantage of the land we have. A calm and slow ride were you see plenty of plants and greenhouses as real scientists conduct studies with different ways of growing plants and food. Yes it is a slow ride, but it is something any young biologist may enjoy.

Then of course the more popular ride is Soarin’, where you and a number of other people all experience flying around the world. You are lifted and suspended in the air while a large projection screen plays arial views of famous landmarks and landscapes. You feel like you are actually flying. And having Patrick Warburton as your flight attendant is a plus in my book.

There used to be an attraction called “Awesome Planet” with Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King where you learn about and experience the wonders of the Circle of Life, but it has since been closed.

Hopefully the closure will be resolved soon and guests will once again experience great food while flying across the world.
