The recent television series The Book of Boba Fett left much to be desired in terms of seeing a fully fledged adventure of the legendary bounty hunter. We saw one of the most well known silent killers on of Star Wars turn into a sort of sheriff in an “Old West” setting on Tatooine. This did not appear to be what many fans were hoping for.
Well it seems that it’s not just the fans that felt underwhelmed with the portrayal of a character we haven’t seen in almost 40 years. Actor Temiera Morrison, who played the old bounty hunter, seems to have issues with the portrayal as well.
Temiera is perhaps best known for playing Jango Fett in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and giving both a face and a voice to all the clone troopers. He currently plays old Boba Fett since Boba is a clone of Jango.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly expressing his want to see Fett return “back to his badass ways“:
“We’ve got to see the old Boba Fett. We reintroduced him. We found out some stuff. But I think it’s time to get him back to his badass ways. No two ways around that.“
However he did cite that he has no control over the direction of his character:
“I think we sort of have that scope to go back there, but that’s out of my control. I’ll just see what happens.“
This does line up with his previous comments about how Fett “talked too much” in the show. A major criticism the show revived from multiple viewers. He was less the stoic badass that kids growing up with The Empire Strokes Back and more of a liberator.
What do you think? Should Boba Fett return to his roots?
