StarWars.com has announced that Taika Waititi will be co-writing and directing an upcoming Star Wars film. He will be sharing the writing duties with Academy Award® nominee Krysty Wilson-Cairns.
Of course they made the announcement today, on May the 4th, Star Wars Day.
Taika Waititi did work on The Mandalorian as both the voice of IG-11 and he directed the finale of The Mandalorian which was called Chapter 8: Redemption. Which gave us the scene with stormtroopers punching Baby Yoda and the “on the nose” stormtrooper shooting joke.
Co-writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns is coming into the project after her Academy Award nomination for the film 1917.
