The Jungle Cruise film is just a month away from hitting theatres and Disney+! Where’s all the merchandise, though? Today I spotted a couple of figures from the upcoming action-adventure movie based on the classic ride over at Super7’s website.
Dr. Lily Houghton and Frank Wolff make their way onto store shelves via Super7’s ReAction line of figures. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but Dr. Houghton’s face looks slightly more detailed than the typical ReAction fare.
On the other hand, Frank Wolff has all the hallmarks of classic late ’70s early ’80s Kenner figure goodness. Throw him in with an Indiana Jones line, and you’d never know he didn’t belong.
But … will there be more toys or are these two it?
Super7 | DisneyIs it me, or is Disney not promoting this film nearly as much as they have with other recent theatrical films?
Don’t get me wrong. I love the Jungle Cruise ride. I have a personal connection to that bit of park history. A piece of my engineering is on every boat. I’m just curious as to why not more is being done to advertise the movie.
Based on the trailer, this thing is a goldmine for old-school action figures and playsets. A ship playset with all those classic Kenner action features and decals? Yes, please! Let’s hope Disney and Super7 are working on expanding this line into something more than just niche collectibles.
