Good morning and Happy Sunday! Welcome back to the fifteenth week of Sunday Showcase. Each week, we take a look at one of Walt Disney World’s resorts. This week we will be taking a look at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. If you haven’t checked out last’s week’s article, you can do so here.

Sunday Showcase: Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter

“Revel in the romance and pageantry of New Orleans’s historic French Quarter at this Moderate Resort hotel. Discover cobblestone streets, gas lamps, wrought-iron balconies and fragrant magnolia blossoms, along with colorful Mardi Gras characters and the sounds of jazz. Then stroll along the lushly landscaped Sassagoula River to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, where the bayou beckons, as do Cajun and Creole specialties.”

Brief History

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter first opened to guests on May 17, 1991. Its design and architecture was themed to look like New Orleans’s French Quarter. It originally opened as Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and operated as such until April 1, 2001 when it was given the distinction of French Quarter.

In conclusion, Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is my absolute favorite Moderate Resort. Its small footprint paired with its beautiful New Orleans Style Decor makes a place to keep retuning to. Additionally, I have just one word left to say: Beignets.
