Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger

In August 2021, the announcement was made that The Wave was closing at The Contemporary at Walt Disney World Resort. The Wave was a safe option for table service dining. As someone who recommends visitors to Magic Kingdom consider having lunch at one of the monorail resorts, this change intrigued me. The restaurant retheme is known as Steakhouse 71.

The first official day of operation was October 1st, 2021.

Though I have not visited yet, I have heard many good things about lunch at Steakhouse 71 from some well-respected dining experts (and a few people who just like food). So far, the lunch menu is a hit.

Since I spend far too much time on twitter, a tweet I saw recently prompted my interest in this location. Scott Gustin, a well-respected journalist, tweeted: Just a PSA if you’re at #WaltDisneyWorld50 — the Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger is the best burger at WDW and it’s not even close.” As someone who writes about burgers often, this was too significant to ignore.

This caused me to check with all sources on what they thought of this burger. I got five sources to give me some feedback which I will attempt to summarize for you. As of time of writing, this place has been open for three days. Things could change quickly but we know a few things so far about a new contestant for best burger at Walt Disney World.

The menu lists the Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger for $20. The menu description is a signature blend of beef, American cheese, lemon aioli, red onion, house-made pickles, on a brioche bun. You can select as a side a small salad, parmesan fries, or pasta salad. The burger is served with a piece of pork belly on top, which is a nice surprise from the average carnivore.

To be fair, this burger is not going to be on any suggested healthy diet plan. Yet, if you wish to have a tasty burger with a beef blend on the fatty side get this one. Once again, this place just opened but Scott Gustin was correct to think highly of this burger according to all reports.

Several of my sources said the combination of meat flavors was magical. Now, I expected the cheese to not be valuable to this burger. However, every report I have received say the melting cheese was wonderful in this burger creation. Now, the fatty burger does lead to a potential mess so you have been warned.

Considering the price of a good burger with a side at Walt Disney World, the Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger is a good value. Based on taste quality, this is a burger that burger fans need to encounter.

In fairness, the only negative I heard about this entrée are the sides. The sides are good but nothing special. You can get a side salad to perhaps balance out the fat of this burger. The fries and pasta salad were considered just okay to be paired with this excellent of a burger.

If you find yourself at one of the monorail resorts or need to find a decent meal nearby when visiting Magic Kingdom, this burger will satisfy. Enjoy your theme park time and enjoy the food theme parks offer.
