Recently, my family and I were able to stay one night at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort by renting Disney Vacation Club Points from a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member.  We are local to Walt Disney World, so we were able to arrive early and partake in what the resort had to offer.

We requested to have our room ready at about 12pm.  Disney does not guarantee that the rooms when the guest reports the time of their arrival during the check in process on the My Disney Experience app.  For us, the room took some time to get ready, so we availed ourselves to the resort.

We walked the resort to acquaint ourselves with the layout, and we found the “quiet pool.” There were several guests taking in the nice weather with a dip in the pool, but knowing my children, I knew that I should steer clear of the “quiet pool.”  My children (like most children) would not be quiet in the “quiet pool.”  Thus, we found the Luna Park pool on the opposite side of the resort.

The Luna Park pool has a waterslide that is themed to look like an old wooden rollercoaster, a bar named Leaping Horse Libations, a rather large pool, a kiddie pool, and a playground. There are a lot of hotel rooms that overlook the pool area.  My family enjoyed the pool and the kiddie pool.  My three year old son did not want to leave the kiddie pool as it gave him more freedom than the larger pool.  Poolside, the recreation team led kids in games to entertain them.  Additionally, later a round of villains trivia was played with all in the pool.  I love the recreation staff at the resort pools because they keep the party going and play fun music. I went down the waterslide, and I will admit that it was very fun!  It’s a neat pool experience.  I highly recommend spending some time at the Luna Park Pool.  You could also go to quiet pool, if that’s your thing. After the pool, we stumbled upon Donald Duck and Pluto meeting guests out on the Boardwalk in their 50th finest.  My children took pictures with them in their bathing suits.

Our room took about two hours or so to become available.  We were granted a pool view with a direct balcony over the Leaping Horse Libations bar.  The room slept five people with a queen sized bed, a queen size sofa bed, and a pull down twin sized bed under the television.  The DVC rooms come with a microwave, coffee maker, paper plates and plastic utensils, and other amenities. I am also here to say that I love the smell of Disney shampoo, conditioner, soap, and hand creams.  I need to purchase some to have at home.

My daughter and I walked to Epcot’s International Gateway that night for some fun.  That’s one of the best parts of staying at the Boardwalk the quick access to Epcot by boat or walking path and Disney’s Hollywood Studios by walking path or boat.  Walking to Epcot does not take long at all.  You could also stay on the Boardwalk and eat dinner, enjoy the entertainment, rent a bicycle to ride around the Boardwalk, and/or walk around and just enjoy the ambiance.  There are also daily activities to partake in everyday such as movies and arts and crafts.  Check with the resort for their daily schedule.

We certainly enjoyed our one night at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort.  I highly recommend spending some time at the Luna Park Pool especially when the Recreation Staff is present for some added fun.  Take a trip down the rollercoaster waterslide!
