Disney has just kicked off the media blitz, letting the social media influencers and actual media into the Galactic Starcruiser last week. The embargo was lifted on Friday and with came a whirlwind of videos, articles, and more. At this point nothing is a surprise to any guests visiting and many, including their “trusted media” are questioning the price tag.
Well to add to the drama, it seems that the exclusive merchandise is already going on eBay. Now, it doesn’t mean that it’s all influencers who got a free trip, but the merchandise is going for crazy prices on eBay before it even officially opens!
This came to our attention last night:
So… influencers already selling the lightsaber on eBay? They’re the only ones who had access to the store. We didn’t have access to the store during the media preview. pic.twitter.com/4Rf4atYmCi

1700 bucks for that saber? I can buy into my share of a a two person stay for less than that and just buy the damn thing.

Imagine paying $1700 for a saber that has minimal features when you can get a custom that does a hell of a lot more and still have $700+ left over.

fwiw, most of these are people selling “preorders” for upcoming cruises – and that one dude with the hilt on the bed who is on a cruise happening right now (not media).

the influencers only got 4 hours on the ship with the shop being roped off.

I knew that people going on the Galactic Starcruiser were already buying up the exclusive clothing on Shop Disney (for guests with Starcruiser reservations only) and were selling them on eBay, so it stands to reason this would happen too. Some of the listings were for pre-orders, trying to get the jump on the competition.
The items are going to be flowing like water come March 1, so you really do NOT need to spend over $1k on a lightsaber.
For just the sheath they want almost $450 and then $38 to ship it!
Over $200 for the Droid Depot Action Figure
Almost $700 for the Droid!
Just wait another few days and the market will be flooded with those cashing in! You will still pay an upcharge for sure, but not the level of these prices.
