‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ has had it’s global launch today and the embargo has lifted. We now have a look at some reviews and comments about the film (spoiler free of course) and it’s currently sitting at 97% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Of course critical scores do not always reflect the audience scores as we have seen with “Eternals.” Sometimes they line up quite well as seen with Netflix’s ‘Cowboy Beepop.’ But we do know that critics are giving this one praise (so far) and we do know that there are two post credit scenes, but we are NOT going to ruin anything for you in this article.
Here’s what is being said about the film overall:
“It’s less a “movie” than it is a series of capital-letter Moments…“-Vinnie Mancuso -Collider
“It’s not only an enthralling thrill ride, not only a celebration of Spidey fandom, not only a rousing adventure but also an emotionally riveting drama that doesn’t pull its punches.“-Kristy Puchko -Mashable
“Spider-Man: No Way Home is a goliath that feels destined to eat the world, a potent combination of the ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe and nostalgia for what came before.” – Esther Zuckerman -Thrillist
“No Way Home features Holland’s best work as Peter and Spidey to date, with the film driving him toward emotional extremes he has never previously touched.” -Don Kaye- Den of Geek
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” is everything a comic book movie should be, filled with excitement, heart, humor, and details to delight the fans.” – Nell Minow -Movie Mom
“Spider-Man: No Way Home bounces from hilarious to hurt with ease as both the darkest and funniest MCU Spider-Man entry to date.“- Ameila Emberwing – IGN
Then there are these that make me a tad concerned:
“This is, in so many ways, business as usual… But when the movie decides to detour into cracked, buddy-comedy territory — that’s when the fun begins.” -David Fear- Rolling Stone
“Spider-Man: No Way Home is everything you don’t want in a Marvel Movie… until it becomes the act of genius that overcomes everything that, in lesser hands, would be an eye roller.” –David Poland – Hot Button
“The film is satisfying, but not as special as it could have been if the lineup of beloved characters had been handled with more care and creativity.” –Danielle Broadway – Black Girl Nerds
“Enjoyable and often funny, ‘No Way Home’ struggles to balance being a straight-forward sequel to ‘Far from Home’ and a full-on MCU event flick.” – Scott Mendelson–Forbes
I will say that if you do not want spoiled you will want to avoid social media (especially Twitter) and some of the critical full reviews. I know people are already upset that parts of the film have been ruined.
