On the eve of what is one of the most anticipated Marvel films since Avengers: Endgame SONY unveils a brand new trailer for their Animated Spider-Man Universe. The 2018 film, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, is considered by many to be one of the best animated super hero films ever made. Not only was it a critical and financial success, but it also revitalized SONY’s Feature Animation Division, which had not been doing well in recent years due to failures like The Emoji Movie. But now SONY is taking advantage of the success of Spider-Verse, both in Live Action and Animation.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One) sees Miles Moralis encounter Spider-Man 2099 AKA Miguel O’Hara (Played by Oscar Isaac) as he travels across the Marvel Multiverse.

Here is the “First Look”

The encounter with Miguel O’Hare was teased in the post-credit scene of the first film where Miguel uses a watch to travel to the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon and recreated the Pointing Spider-Man internet meme.

The current synopsis of the film reads:

Miles Moralis goes on an adventure across the multiverse with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People who must face a powerful villain.

The villain for the film hasn’t been revealed as of writing this but hopefully as we get closer to the release we’ll find out more.

With this film being “Part One” we will definitely get a cliffhanger ending and see the conclusion to the story in the 2023 follow-up.

It is interesting that they are doing it in two parts.

With Spider-Man: No Way Home and now this SONY seems to have gone spider crazy. Multiple films following characters such as Venom, Morbius, Black Cat, Night Watch and more it is clear that they intend to milk as much as they can from the Spider-Man name.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (Part One) is set to release October 7th, 2022 and will see the return of Miles Moralis’ version the the web slinger.
