Central Park Crepes opened for the first day of operation not long after Universal Orlando reopened in 2020. The queues for this small food kiosk developed challenging lines early on. The waits for these made to order theme park style crepes have reached hours before. Much of the wait relates to the made to order nature of these tasty creations. These crepes work as a solid filling snack or a reasonable meal. The crepes come in savory or sweet versions. The savory ones cost $19.99. The sweet variety cost $9.99.

A few things have happened regarding this food stand in May and June. In May, Central Crepes changed forty percent of their menu. In June, Central Park Crepes went behind walls for a short refurbishment for pavement and other types of repairs. Central Park Crepes reopened fully on June 15th.

Menu May 2022

One of the crepes to survive the purge of large portion of menu here was the “Smoked Brisket Crepes.” These continue to be my favorite crepe offered here. Some people display surprise when you tell then Universal Studios Florida theme park offers a brisket crepe. They might even be a vacationer expert who will doubt you when you say these crepes taste good.

So, how is this crepe?

The Smoked Brisket Crepe costs $10.99 as mentioned above. The menu description reads spice rubbed beef, pepper jack cheese, slaw, and golden BBQ ranch sauce. The brisket offers a solid slightly smoky flavor. I suspect this brisket is the same type used at Green Eggs and Ham for their brisket tots.

The brisket provides far better flavor with the crepe in contrast to the covered tater tots. The batter portion of this menu item offers the usual light flavor as with the other crepes here. The slaw and BBQ ranch sauce goes very well with the brisket. Like most of these crepes, get extra napkins since they can become messy. Central Park Crepes offers above average portion size so be careful eating.

The only negative to this crepe, besides the potential mess factor, involves the cheese. The cheese provides a neutral flavor with these crepes when I have enjoyed them previously.

If you find yourself a bit hungry walking by this food kiosk seeing a short queue, give it a try. The crepes offer good value and surprisingly excellent flavor.

As always, eat like you mean it!
