They Skyliner is “officially” opening on September 29th, and here’s a look a the route map and some more info for you.

How long will it take to travel between stations?

  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 5-6 minutes
  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to Disney’s Riviera Resort: about 5 minutes

Those are the shortest trips on the line.

  • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to Disney’s Pop Century Resort or Disney’s Art of Animation Resort: under 6 minutes

• Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to International Gateway at Epcot: approximately 15 minutes

  • Disney’s Riviera Resort to International Gateway at Epcot: approximately 9 minutes

Each trip is relatively short, but like the monorail, you will need to get off and switch cars at stations.

Hours of Operation:

Here’s the schedule for the Skyliner:

Is it hard to get on and off the gondolas?

No. They are in constant motion, but they slow down to a crawl at the stations. They will stop for wheelchairs and handicap accessibility.

What is it like?

Contrary to how they look the cabins are quite spacious and can fit up to 10 people. It is not hot inside. I know a lot of us were worried about that, but the vents keep it comfortable.

If you are afraid of heights I would not recommend this.

You can choose cabins that have the character wraps, however they do obstruct the view somewhat. So keep that in mind.

Here’s a great POV video from The Dis on going to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I love how it goes over the water too!

One really cool thing about being up in the air, you can get great views of construction!
