Should Your Larger Group Consider the Holiday Inn Universal?

So, you have a group of six wanting to go to Universal Orlando on vacation? Finding a place that your family can afford presents some challenges. The addition of the Endless Summer Resort as a part of Universal Orlando’s hotel portfolio helps some. The suites that sleep 6 there provide a good value. However, depending on time of year, the suites there might cost over $250/night.

Good news, several “off-site” Universal Orlando partner hotels offer suites that sleep six or more. These partner hotels generally cost less per night. A few of these partner hotels reside within reasonable walking distance to Universal Orlando. Some of these partner hotels are actually closer to Universal Orlando than the Endless Summer Resorts. The Holiday Inn and Suites: Across from Universal Orlando resides very close by.

This hotel offers several types of rooms that sleep 6 or more. In fact, they have accommodations that sleep up to 10. While searching for accommodations for an upcoming “work” trip, I compared the pricing of the 6 person suites at Holiday Inn Universal to the Endless Summer Resorts suites that sleep six. On average, the cost at the Holiday Inn was lower by at least $30-40/night. Depending on the length of your stay, that cost difference could really add up. You might even be able to enjoy another night or two on your vacation staying here opposed to somewhere else.

Being closest off-site hotel with suites that sleep 6 or more, the ability to walk to Universal Orlando increases value of this option. Also, limited shuttle bus service to and from Universal Orlando comes with a stay at this Holiday Inn. In addition, the suites sleeping six come with a spacious living room area. The sofa folds out to be a large sleeper sofa.

If comparing this hotel’s suite style rooms to the Endless Summer versions, there are several additional advantages that the Holiday Inn and Suites: Across from Universal Orlando offers such as:

  1. As mentioned, far more space with a true living room area.
  2. Larger refrigerator in room
  3. Keurig in room
  4. Excellent moveable desk area (great for writing articles about theme parks by the way)
  5. Far more usable bathroom space with better bathroom accessories
  6. Way more storage space
  7. Far less issues with noise from other rooms compared to Endless Summer suites

The competition among hotels around Universal Orlando grows weekly with increased popularity of Universal Orlando. Orlando area vacationers express they desire ways to cut expense without losing perks. Staying off-site might fit that bill.

This hotel may not be the best fit for your vacation. However, if you are a group of 5 or more, this hotel should be considered. In fact, if you enjoy having more space than a traditional hotel room, these suites could meet your needs nicely.
