Just days ago Sea World was putting out a guest survey for input into reopening procedures and now they are confirming some of their plans to the public.

Marc Swanson, Interim CEO of Sea World, gave updated information about their proposed safety plan during an earnings call. We still do not have an official opening date yet, but we learned the Texas parks could be the first ones to reopen. Swanson said “We still don’t have a timeline, and things could change.”

“After Texas, our next most hopeful is in Florida.”

When asked about the situation in Orlando and what their competitors were doing he stated that they are working with and taking guidance from the Orange County Economic Relief Task Force. I know they are in the meetings and were asked where they were at in their plans at the same time Disney and Universal were questioned.

“We are in regular contact with local, state and federal authorities, and we look forward to opening our parks and welcoming back our guests as soon as it’s safe and permitted to do so.”

He also mentioned that even after they are allowed to reopen, it could take weeks to get the parks to a point that they could. We’ve mentioned this several times in regards to Disney and what we have heard from “insiders.”

There were some safety measures that he did mention such as: employees wearing masks and receiving temperature checks, enhanced sanitation, social distancing and they are working on virtual queuing and ordering technology, but they likely won’t be fully complete when the parks reopen.

That’s the update we have so far. We will try to report more information as it becomes available to us.
