runDisney has announced that the first in-person weekend will be theme as Wickedly Delicious and this year there are in-person and virtual offerings!

The dates will be November 4-7, 2021.

There will be registration for the 5K, 10K, Half-Marathon, Two-Course Challenge, Post Run Party AND Virtual 5K, Virtual 10K, Virtual Half and Virtual 2 Course Challenge!

If you can’t get there you can participate in the virtual events.  It makes sense Disney can double dip on the money and still keep the levels for in person.

Here is the write-up:

This year, some of your favorite villains are back for another wickedly delicious good time during the 2021 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend powered by AfterShokz! Only this time, you’ll experience the ghoulish fun at Walt Disney World Resort — right at the start of The World’s Most Magical Celebration! This year’s menu will satisfy your cravings, whether it’s your first or 50th race. For those hungry for a little extra kick, there’s our Two Course Challenge that’s guaranteed to keep you running. Plus, you can keep things cookin’ at an after-hours Post-Race Party for runners and registered Guests!

Fine print:

We may not be quite ready to bring back every element of a runDisney race weekend as COVID-19 guidelines may change before our return to in-person running. Please visit our runDisney Return to In-Person Running page for the latest information.

While across businesses and communities COVID-19 guidelines are trending in a direction that could allow for a more familiar runDisney race experience, during the race weekend we may implement health and safety measures, such as face coverings, physical distancing and other requirements if they are deemed appropriate.”

Registration for the events:

Club runDisney Gold & Platinum Registration Opens July 6, 2021 at 10 AM EST.

General Registration for In-Person Races Opens July 13, 2021 at 10 AM EST.

General Registration for Virtual Races Opens July 16, 2021 at 10 AM EST

I do like how they are doing the race registrations for In-Person and Virtual on different days to help with the inevitable congestion and long wait times for registration.

Here are the prices:

In Person 5k- $95

In Person 10K – $135

In Person Half Marathon- $215

In Person Two Course Challenge- $360

Post Run Party -$89

Virtual 5K- $79

Virtual 10K- $99

Virtual Half Marathon- $118

Virtual Two Course Challenge- $252

If you’ve never participated in a runDisney in-person event I highly recommend them. They are a lot of fun and it’s an incredibly positive atmosphere!  Everyone is hyped and they cheer each other on.

If you aren’t a super fast runner or if you want to walk, the 5K would be your best bet as it isn’t timed.
