runDisney has just posted the information on the upcoming Summer Virtual Run Series based on “Frozen.” From June-August, 2022, there will be a 5K event a month, run virtually.

(The medals appear to be snowglobes!)

Here is the official announcement:

“Virtual 5K Series

This summer, join runDisney in celebrating Frozen with 3 magical 5Ks. So strap on your snowshoes (just kidding) and prepare to rule the road. Or treadmill. Or North Mountain. Each event features a unique medal inspired by Frozen, and if you run all 3, a fourth runDisney Virtual Challenge medal is yours!

In addition, a themed bib and an at-home themed kit that includes a start line, finish line and mile markers will be available for download.”

There are three 5K events. You can choose to participate in just one run or do the challenge for all three runs and the finisher medal. Each individual race is $47.97 and the Virtual Challenge is $159.90.

The individual 5K (3.1 mile) events are:

The Original Classic:

“Unleash your inner Elsa over a course of 3.1 miles. Your effort will earn you a commemorative medal featuring Kristoff and Sven in a snowy wonderland!”

The Heroic Sequel:

“Celebrate the power of being true to yourself. Your reward? You’ll get an intricately designed medal featuring beloved sisters Anna and Elsa from Frozen II.”

The Broadway Hit:

“Run, walk or dance your way along your chosen path. Finish the course and you’ll receive a show-stopping medal, inspired by Frozen on Broadway!”

Virtual Challenge:

“The runDisney Virtual Challenge includes all 3 Virtual 5K events. Complete them all and earn 3 finisher medals plus a bonus Challenge medal! This one-of-a-kind medal features our favorite snowman, Olaf, enjoying the Summer sun!

Please note: You must register for the runDisney Virtual Challenge to be eligible for the Challenge medal.”

Registration will open for these events will open on April 5, 2022 at 10AM EST. 

The supported organization for this event is Girl Scouts of Citrus.

Fine print:

“Please note this event is open to residents of the US and US Territories only, and medals may only be shipped to addresses within these regions.

Dates, times, prices and inclusions subject to change.

Registered runDisney Virtual Series participants will receive their commemorative medal in the mail at the physical address they submit during the event registration process. Medals will be shipped at the conclusion of the event completion timeframe. Please note that your medal cannot be shipped to a PO Box or APO Box, and after 3 attempts to deliver your medal to the address provided, no additional attempts will be made. All attempts to deliver medals for this event will conclude at the end of the calendar year.

Disney reserves the right to revoke any registration for any race, for any reason in its sole discretion with refund of any applicable registration fees being the sole remedy of any such refusal and/or revocation.”

I’m really looking forward to this one! I was also a former Girl Scout for years and I earned the Gold Award so I’m loving that they are supporting scouting!
