This is definitely RUMOR but according to sources the upcoming DVC Reflections- A Disney Lakeside Lodge may be canceled.
The Reflections project is, or possibly was, going to be the 16th Disney Vacation Club property and was to open in 2022.
Now, it’s possible cancelation is being discussed in various groups and on boards online.
Apparently Project 89, aka Reflections, is reportedly cancelled according to insiders on WDWMagic.com.
The discussion is that there have been rumors about the TRON coaster work but that it likely won’t be restarted until October due to lack of concrete deliveries. In regards to Project 89 Seanual 757 said: “We received word project 89 is cancelled crews have been seen onsite removing the rebar and concrete from this project.”
Now, a lot of people have based rumors on building materials disappearing, but many have stated that moving materials does not mean something is cancelled. There was a lot of debate about this in regards to the Star Wars Star cruiser Hotel. But some say it’s still on while others argue it could be canceled. So yet another “who knows” there.
Then the DVCFan site said they did some digging and it has indeed disappeared from Disney Vacation Club and Disney Parks Blog websites:
“Digging into this a bit further, we discovered that any mention of Reflections appears to have vanished from the Disney Vacation Club and Disney Parks Blog websites. Similar to other disappearances of announced projects throughout Disney’s history, this is a notable development since we believe articles used to exist on these websites about Reflections.”
To me that lends more validity to the rumor.
Moving forward I fully expect many projects to be put on hiatus or completely scrapped, as the company needs to make up funds they lost during the parks shutdowns and the box office shut downs. Until we get an official announcement, it’s all rumor.
What do you think? Comment and let us know.
