New rumors have Pixar changes coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disneyland has Pixar Pier and Disney’s Hollywood Studios had Pixar Place, but now there are rumors from Screamscape that Disney might be taking Pixar Place clear down from it’s prior location (Now Metroville) to the Launch Bay/Animation Courtyard area.

Apparently they heard through the grapevine that the area including Walt Disney Presents, the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Star Wars: Launch Bay, and possibly the Disney Junior sound stage could all become Pixar Place.

Theming would of course be based on popular Pixar films. Kind of like how they turned the Paradise Pier into Pixar Pier, Disney could add attractions or re-do existing areas to reflect the theme.

What is also interesting is that there has been a rumor that the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor could be moved from the Magic Kingdom into Disney Hollywood Studios and if the Disney Junior sound stage or the Voyage of the Little Mermaid show buildings were empty, they could be converted for that show.

It would all make sense as a Pixar area as Toy Story Land is right around the corner. They did do the Lightning McQueen Racing Academy attraction, but that is down on Sunset Boulevard.

We know that the contract with Aerosmith for the Rock N’ Roller Coaster will be up soon. So some are speculating they could bring Cars or the MCU to the Rock N’ Roller Coaster next.

Currently, they really can’t do Marvel because of contracts in place with Universal Orlando. But if they somehow worked out a deal to bring Marvel to Orlando, or if one of their newer MCU properties isn’t tied to contracts they could use that. Like they did with Guardians of the Galaxy.

My money is on the MCU overlays and eventually applied to Tower of Terror too.

But, if they really wanted to do something with Pixar they could overlay the coaster into a Cars attraction, since they already have the Lightning McQueen Racing Academy nearby.

Pixar Rumors are out there for two other parks as well.

This rumor is one of many involving Disney parks getting Pixar additions. We already covered the rumors for Wall-e, Wreck-It-Ralph and The Incredibles for Tomorrowland.

There have been rumors about giving Test Track a Cars overlay, which would lessen the attraction if you ask me, but Disney seems bent on IP domination of Epcot. Taking it from something different and unique to the Magic Kingdom 2.0.

Of course this is all speculation and rumor and nothing has ever been officially announced. Although the Pixar Place extension is an interesting and plausible idea. It ties into the rumors about the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor too.

Only time will tell. We will keep you posted if we hear anything.
