Rumor: Marvel Reportedly Wants To Do Three Season For the New Disney+ ‘Loki’ Series

There is a new rumor that Marvel studios is wanting three seasons for the new “Loki” series coming to Disney+. Given how popular the character of Loki is, I could see this happening.

Let me start off by reminding everyone that this is a rumor, and as such, we take it with a grain of salt, until we get confirmation.  It’s also coming from We Got This Covered, so it isn’t an official source or something that has been confirmed. But I personally could see this happening so I wanted to cover it.

Here’s what they said:

Sources close to WGTC…say that the studio intends for Loki to have a lifespan of three seasons, if not more. It’s currently unclear whether Hiddleston has been tied down for that long, but Marvel apparently wants to keep him on board as the Asgardian trickster for at least a little bit longer.

The other Marvel shows have been set up to be self-contained stories leading into other films. ‘WandaVision’ is leading into “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness’ and now ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ are leading to another ‘Captain America’ film with Sam Wilson as Captain America.

But they way ‘Loki’ seems to be set up, it could go on for multiple “seasons.” We have him working for the Time Variance Authority fixing up the temporal anomalies set in motion by earlier events. This is a premise that could go on for multiple seasons.

Given how many people are very excited about ‘Loki’ the demand would likely be there.

I think it would be a matter of how well the show performs. ‘WandaVision’ performed relatively well, but ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” did not seem to perform as well. If the trend continues with ‘Loki’ the multiple seasons rumor will definitely disappear with the audiences.

Tom Hiddleston’s desire to do more as the character could also be an issue, but Marvel has been pushing the point that he is a shape shifter. Theoretically, he could leave and they could continue, but I don’t think fans would necessarily stay with the change.

We shall see what happens. ‘Loki’ will be coming to Disney+, with six episodes, starting on June 9, 2021.
