Rumor: Disney Is In Talks About Darth Vader Series With Hayden Christensen For Disney+

Disney has been actively trying to flood Disney+ with as much Marvel and Star Wars as they can. Ever since Disney has found success with “The Mandalorian” Bob Iger’s comments about “brand fatigue” have disappeared down the memory hole and it’s full speed ahead.

We know that Hayden Christensen is coming back for the upcoming ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series, where he will play Anakin/Darth Vader once again.

After his return was announced he offered this comment to StarWars.com.

It was such an incredible journey playing Anakin Skywalker. Of course, Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t on the greatest of terms when we last saw them… It will be interesting to see what an amazing director like Deborah Chow has in store for us all. I’m excited to work with Ewan again. It feels good to be back.”

Now it seems that Disney might be bringing Christensen back for more than just an Obi-Wan Kenobi show. In yet another spin-off, based on the popular classic Star Wars characters, Darth Vader would take center stage in his own show.  Or at least that’s the rumor coming from Giant Freakin Robot.

According to the rumor it’s being reported that Christensen is in talks to play Darth Vader in his own show that would start filming after Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Here’s what they said:

This latest exclusive has Hayden Christensen spinning off another story in the Darth Vader timeline and will likely extend off of the events of the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series on Disney+. That show is set to pick up about ten years after the events of The Revenge of the Sith when Luke Skywalker has been put into hiding on Tatooine. The series will follow the titular character, with Ewan McGregor reprising the role for the prequel trilogy. It will tell the story of how he worked to keep Luke safe during those formative years.

Likely the show will be filler for his time in between the Prequel Trilogy and the Classic one.  I’m just excited about getting more classic Star Wars characters in hopefully good stories again!

It’s amazing how popular Star Wars can be when it’s done right, so let’s hope all the new shows are more like “The Mandalorian” and less like the Disney Sequel Trilogy.

What do you think?  Comment and let us know!
