In another sign that things are returning to normal at Universal Orlando, the Rock the Universe event returns for 2023. Universal announced that the last weekend in January 2023 would be the dates to host one of the largest Contemporary Christian Music Event in the world. Some of the top Christian artist in the world will perform during this event. Since this event crosses the streams involving two of my areas of knowledge and vocation, I even got the privilege to interview Matthew West, one of the musical artists last year.

On July 25th, Universal Orlando officially announced the dates for this event. They wrote: “Get ready to rock, ride and rejoice – Universal Orlando Resort’s Rock the Universe returns on January 27-29.” They stressed that Christian music fans and youth groups alike may celebrate at Florida’s biggest Christian music festival. Guests will enjoy moving performances by some of Christian music’s top artists, powerful worship experiences and thrilling theme park attractions during an unforgettable weekend of faith, fun and fellowship at Universal Studios Florida. The line-up for this year has not been officially announced. However, from my sources, many excellent popular Christian artists will be leading in worship and performing during the concerts. I will share those details when Universal Orlando officially announces them but I am looking forward to two of the artists very much.

Universal Orlando announced that this year’s rocking weekend kicks off Friday night across Universal’s two stages, Music Plaza Stage and Hollywood Stage, with six feature performances from top Christian artists. The festival continues Saturday night with an additional six performances.

As per usual for this event, beyond the main stage performances, Rock the Universe attendees may enjoy worship experiences throughout the weekend – including a Saturday ceremony with a special message and moving musical performance. Also, a powerful Sunday morning worship service will wrap up the faith-filled weekend.

Other aspects of this event were announced like the dedicated Fan Zone presented by Coca-Cola which features live performances from up-and-coming acts throughout the weekend. Universal Orlando wants everyone to know that tickets and vacation packages will be on sale later this year. Additional details on Rock the Universe will be revealed soon. I, for one, hope my schedule allows a trip to Orlando for this event. I am sure that is why Universal Orlando announced the basic details so early so that people like myself could start planning. Most of all, I think we all enjoy seeing Orlando theme park activities return to the standard before the year 2020.
