Review: Thigh High Chicken Biscuits at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Disney Springs

One of the more difficult restaurants in Disney Springs to get a reservation for is Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. What makes this place so desirable to enjoy? Well, this place offers a menu designed by Chef Art Smith.  I declare this next statement with respect. I desire to show no criticism. However, Art Smith does not create food for those looking to lose weight. His cuisine style builds on southern USA comfort food. If your doctor advises you to lose weight, please do not even walk by this restaurant. However, if you believe the myth that vacation calories do not count, run to Homecomin’.

As you might expect, fried chicken stars on this menu. If you want truly wonderful fried chicken, visit this place. On the appetizer menu, guests can order the “Thigh High Chicken Biscuits. This appetizer provides a great introduction to the food at Homecomin’.

These chicken biscuits cost $17. If that price alarms you, welcome to Disney Springs. However, this appetizer might be worth that price point. The menu description tells us that three excellent biscuits come filled with Chef Art’s famous fried chicken thighs.

Now for our friends living in the UK, these biscuits do not taste like cookies. However, on this menu, you can order fried chicken with doughnuts if you want savory and sweet together. These biscuits resemble savory scones as southern USA style biscuits. Also, these biscuits present a cheddar taste to go with the rest of item. As you can see from photos, the signature bread and butter pickles feature prominently with these biscuits. The chicken gets drizzled with a hot honey coating also. This honey gets mixed with Art Smith’s special hot sauce. The flavor combination earns high praise.

Though some guests voice concern about the quality of the chicken itself. I feel those complaints function as the exception not the rule. I sometimes struggle to recommend people order this due to the higher-than-expected price point at $17. However, how could chicken be bad at Art Smith’s place? If you want to try the starter kit of chicken at Homecomin’, this appetizer satisfies that need.

As always, eat like you mean it!
