Review of Pulled Pork Sandwich at Hard Rock Café

One of the longest running restaurants at Universal Orlando is the Hard Rock Café. Hard Rock Cafes can literally be found throughout the world. However, this location is marketed as the largest one in the world. The food at the Orlando location is like what you might find at another Hard Rock Café. This location is worth your time during a busy theme park day though. Hard Rock Café is literally between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

Full-service restaurants can be expensive at all Orlando area theme park resorts. If you find yourself desiring a sit-down meal but do not want to spend an excessive amount, Hard Rock Café has some options for you. One of those suggestions is the Pulled Pork Sandwich. The Orlando Hard Rock Café location does place more emphasis in BBQ than your average Hard Rock Café.

This sandwich costs $15.95. The sandwich is described as tender pulled pork with house-made BBQ sauce, pickles, and coleslaw. This comes with fries. The pork is generally tender. The white meat also has a solid flavor. I think most of the flavor is from the sauce not how the meat is prepared though. The bun is a toasted brioche bun usually well prepared to match the flavors.

There are some negatives to this sandwich. As you might imagine, this sandwich can be messy. When I order it, I plan to use my fork to assist cleaning my plate. I will need additional napkins also. The coleslaw fits this sandwich well in terms of texture. Yet, the flavor of this slaw is average. The slaw would not match up to quality you would find at a true BBQ place. The slaw flavor does not hinder this sandwich though. Yet, it does not truly help it either except for adding crunch. Personally, I do not enjoy pickles. My colleagues that enjoy pickles have mixed feelings about their usefulness in this sandwich.

The portion size is worth the money spent on this entrée. If you are looking to stretch your theme park budget a little, this entrée can help. If looking for more discounts on this meal, Premier and Preferred level annual passholders get 15% discount. AAA members get a 10% discount. These discounts do not apply to alcoholic beverages. May your taste buds and budget appreciate this pulled pork.
