Located in the London waterfront area of Universal Studios Florida, there are a few kiosks. They are in near proximity to the “Knight Bus.” One of these kiosks traditionally sells merchandise. The other one is known as the London Taxi Hut. This kiosk extends food and beverage options. This location retails beverages of many varieties, hot dogs, and crisps (chips for those of you would speak American instead of English).

However, one visits this food location primarily for the jacket potatoes. Once again, in the USA, we call these loaded baked potatoes. Now, you may not be initially interested in a baked potato. Many guests feel these items are the best value in terms of quick service food in Universal Orlando.

Four varieties of jacket potatoes exist at this kiosk. They each cost $9.79 before any annual pass discounts. The loaded jacket potato serves as our primary focus today. This item features baked potato topped with bacon, cheese, and sour cream. The menu also features a shepherd’s pie version, bean & cheese, and a broccoli & cheese jacket potato.

If you are wondering why people pay almost $10 for something you could probably create at home, here are some reasons…

1. portion size is large for theme park meal under $10.
2. The items are fresh and can be customized as you wish
3. Even though these are simple items, the flavor quality is high. Now, some people claim this food kiosk rarely has a queue. I have seen long queues and even 45 minute or more wait for these items. This kiosk will run out of potatoes periodically during busy days. The supply restores to normal every so often. The potatoes baking operation happens   at a different location and brought to the kiosk.

   

4. If you go on a cooler day by Orlando standards, these will warm you up.

The loaded jacket potato is one of the favorites of Universal Orlando veterans. Something about the combination of the basic flavors ignites this jacket potato to more than the sum of its parts. As I write often, this food will not change your life. However, this item will delight the budget person in your group, so you save up for better meal later.

Many people fail to notice this kiosk on a quest to Diagon Alley or the Men in Black attraction. Next trip to Universal Studios Florida theme park, this jacket potato might be worth your time.
