If you hate trying to use the Virtual Queuing system for ‘Rise of the Resistance’ you’re aren’t going to be happy because now you will need to use that same system for ‘Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure’ too. Unless of course you shell out a bunch of money for access.
Scott Gustin has posted more information about the Genie App and virtual queues on Twitter:
NEW: Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, when it opens at EPCOT on Oct. 1, will open with a virtual queue system similar to Rise of the Resistance. I’m still working on getting details about what Lightning Lane will mean for virtual queues when it launches later this year.

NEW: After Genie launch later this year, both Rise of the Resistance and Ratatouille will offer two options to ride — either join virtual queue in the morning or Lightning Lane individual attraction purchases.

The way it sounds you can either get a boarding group or pay. It also sounds like you have to have the Lighting Lane pass to be able to pay for individual attractions. It’s like with Disney+. You can’t just buy a Premier Access movie, you must be a Disney+ subscriber to be able to pay more.
Got to get every penny right?
Lighting Lane holders will have an advantage for booking. Not surprising at all since they are paying more.
UPDATE and important clarification: WDW resort guests will be able to reserve Lightning Lane “individual attraction selections” starting at 7am.
HOWEVER — there is no resort/onsite advantage for Genie+. ALL guests with Genie+ can book their first attraction starting at 7am.

Scott Gustin seems to be getting a lot of good information on all of the changes with the Genie app. I recommend you keep checking out his account on Twitter for more information.
None of this should be a surprise to anyone at this point.
