Recreate 1937’s Hawaiian Holiday With These Disney ReAction Figures

The first time I ever saw clips from Walt Disney’s Hawaiian Holiday short was when the Disney Channel debuted DTV in the ’80s. DTV used snippets from various Disney animated projects to create music videos with contemporary and “oldies” music. For example, Hawaiian Holiday was featured heavily in Annette Funicello’s “Pineapple Princess” from 1960.

The short was pretty simple. Donald, Goofy, Mickey, and Minnie are on vacation in Hawaii. And, of course, various hijinks happen, and I’m 100% sure Donald calls someone a “son of a #$%*” during one of his tantrums. The cartoon also features a lot of classic Goofy slapstick. All around, it’s a classic.

Being that it is Summer, it makes perfect sense that Super7 would choose right now to release a new set of Disney ReAction figures based on this particular 8-minute Walt Disney toon. The gang is all here, even Donald in his hula skirt! Each character has five points of articulation and comes with an accessory. Goofy has his surfboard. Donald’s got a lei and ukulele. Minnie also gets a lei, while Mickey comes with a guitar.

The characters can be purchased individually at $18 a pop or as a set for $72. ReAction figures are “made to order” and are not mass-produced.
