Prices Going Up in 2020 For the Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Parties

Disney has just posted that their Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party prices will increase starting February 1, 2020.

So more prices creeping up at Disney as they try to claw every penny they can from the guests. Thankfully this is just an add-on and not the main ticket prices (but give that time I’m sure.)

Currently there are three options for the Fireworks Dessert Parties:

Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing

Here you eat at the restaurant with dessert, and then you are moved to the viewing area, for standing room only.

Prices currently (through 1/31/2020) are at $84 per adult (10+) and $50 per child (3-9) Under 2 are free.  They are raising them to $99 per adult and $59 per child. That’s about an 18% increase for adults and kids. I’m sorry, but most kids don’t eat that much anyways!

Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace

This is a special event that takes place on the Terrace with desserts and seating for the event.

Prices currently (through 1/31/2020) are at $84 per adult (10+) and $50 per child (3-9) Under 2 are free.  They are raising them to $99 per adult and $59 per child. Again we have that 18% increase for adults and kids.

Magic Kingdom After Fireworks Dessert Party

This party happens after you view the fireworks. It is also standing room only for special viewing area. This one doesn’t increase as much.

Prices currently (through 1/31/2020) are at $69 per adult (10+) and $41 per child (3-9) Under 2 are free.  They are raising them to $79 per adult and $47 per child. That’s about an 14%-15% increase for adults and kids.

I don’t know if this is a matter of trying to push people to do the After Fireworks Party or to milk as much as they can out of it in general, but this really isn’t worth it! The dessert parties are cool, but I really don’t think they weren’t worth the cost to begin with and now they really aren’t. But it’s up to you and your budget and preferences. Some really like to do these special events. I think an Early Morning Magic or After Hours event is a better use of money.

Here’s what they offer:

  • Chocolate-dipped strawberries.
  • Disney character-themed desserts.
  • Hand-scooped ice cream.
  • Create-your-own cookies and cupcakes.
  • Ooey gooey toffee cake.
  • Action station s’mores.
  • Savory snacks, like house-made eggrolls and spinach dip.

To put it into perspective you will pay $316-$252 (based on a family of 4 with 2 adults and 2 kids, as tax is included in the price) for seats that really aren’t that great and desserts that are cool, but you can get better deals in the park.  The package with seats is off to the side as it is. That’s where we did one before and it was cool, but not something I would do again, and especially not now as the prices are significantly higher than when we did it.

Save your money and get to a good spot early. Go and grab some treats from the Main Street Bakery, Starbucks, or The Plaza and save yourself a lot of money. That’s what we do and our kids love it. Frankly, as soon as it starts and people start putting their kids up on their shoulders the view is about as good as other locations.
