Oh, Gideon’s Bakehouse, we love you. Well, at least, evidence displays that people love your baked goods. This conclusion about adoration for Gideon’s involves that extended queue just to hand over $6 (plus tax) for one cookie. Of course, these rank above ordinary cookies, Even the “Cookie Monster” would need a few extra moments to crumble these in his mouth.

During a recent trip to Disney Springs, I purchased all available cookies. Someone must eat all of them. I stepped up for the job.

Today, I will express my thoughts about the Peanut Butter Crunch Cookie. This cookie faced some tough challenges in terms of a review. I enjoyed the February seasonal Gideon’s cookie right before this one. I used a large amount of diet soda in between cookies to clear my palate. Still, later that same day, I ate the Peanut Butter Explosion Doughnut from Everglazed. Between those too powerful flavors, this cookie needed to stand out.

Gideon’s Bakehouse claims this cookie took an extra-long time to master. They wanted to create a truly revolutionary peanut butter cookie. The menu description tells you the dough consists of mostly peanut butter. The menu description indicates cookies topped with handmade candied peanuts for a great crunch. Despite that build-up, I doubted the cookie would deliver on menu promise.

So how was this cookie?

Well, as a peanut butter lover, I enjoyed the nice overall flavor. This cookie expressed the expected incredible look from Gideon’s Bakehouse cookies. The cookie possessed a soft texture which was much softer than you would expect from this large cookie.

Does this cookie live up to menu description?

The base cookie portion tastes better than any peanut butter cookie I have enjoyed before. The candied peanuts create a solid flavor combination. I would have preferred fewer of them but that does not fit Gideon’s Bakehouse image. This cookie will satisfy the salty and sweet fans. The dominant taste is sweet with a little salty though. If you dislike peanut butter, then do not get within 10 meters of this cookie. However, if you love peanut butter, run to get this cookie. Well, run until you reach the queue. Then, wait a bit before buying this goodness.

As always, eat like you mean it!
