I have been wondering how long it was going to be until they once again recommended masks. It seems that day has come. Mayor Jerry Demings is recommending people wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination.
BREAKING: @OCFLMayor is recommending all vaccinated and unvaccinated wear a mask while indoors because @OrangeCoFL is back in the “high risk” category, per the @CDCgov. @WFTV

The Orange County Area is seeing an uptick in COVID cases and deaths with 406 new cases just yesterday.
Dr. Pino with @DohOrange says @OrangeCoFL had 406 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday and 8 new deaths reported.
100% of them were in unvaccinated people. https://t.co/9ZVVqxyvj9

It’s being recommended in locations where social distancing isn’t necessarily possible.
I asked @OCFLMayor if this means he’s recommending students wear masks when school starts back. OCPS is voting on making masks optional tomorrow. He said – “I want to be clear… we’re talking about crowded locations. Not places where social distancing is possible.” @WFTV https://t.co/9ZVVqxyvj9

So far Walt Disney World and Universal have not made any changes to their guidelines after the mayor made his recommendations.
When you see images of the parks the guests are in long lines and aren’t socially distanced. Even though many places recommend wearing a mask if you aren’t vaccinated most people are not doing that.
Meanwhile Disney just added more availability to their July Park Pass Reservations.
It will be interesting to see if the parks reinstate the masks mandates or if they will continue packing people in in an attempt to recoup money.
Truth be told most people will go no matter what because they don’t want to go back to how it was.
We shall see how it plays out.
