New Show “Armor Wars”, Part of MCU Phase 4, Heading to Disney Plus

With Disney continuing to expand the library of original programing for Disney Plus, Marvel’s Phase 4 has now added a new show to the lineup, “Armor Wars”, a series with the key focus being on the various Iron Man Suits of armor.

Shows like WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier seem to have convinced Disney that they need to crank out more Marvel Shows, Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced the series, saying that fans of Iron Man will enjoy the show.

The series is set to have actor Don Cheadle, who played James Rhodes AKA War Machine in the Marvel Films, as the main protagonist.

The story will follow the comic storyline from the 1980s where Justin Hammer steals Iron Man’s tech and sells it to various Iron Man villains while Tony obsesses over getting it back.

The story line was even adapted into an episode of the Iron Man Cartoon from the 1990s.

With the Iron Heart series also confirmed to be in development, it is speculated that Riri Williams may perhaps appear in this show, and maybe be the launching point for her show in the future. It is currently unknown if Sam Rockwell, the actor who played Justin Hammer in 2010’s Iron Man 2, will reprise his role as the Billionaire Rival to Stark Industries.  The character was a major part of the original storyline in the comics and cartoon.

A release date has yet to be announced but most believe either a Late 2022 or an Early 2023 Release.
