Set For Disney+ “Obi-Wan-Kenobi” Spotted In An Abandoned Quarry–Not All Residents Are Happy

We have a look at the new set for the upcoming ‘Obi-wan Kenobi’ show being created for Disney+. The new series featuring Ewan McGregor, is to start filming in March. But it seems that not everyone in the area is happy about the filming, that could last up to three years!

For the new show Disney / Lucasfilm have built the set in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

The images were apparently captured by a drone:

However, The Sun reports that not all the citizens are happy. And concerns about pollution, traffic and the disruption of wildlife have been reported.

A “source” told The Sun:

“This is a massive production and a hugely lucrative franchise – but obviously not everyone locally is pleased to see Disney moving in.

It might generate some jobs, but this is a pretty rural area which has always been quiet and peaceful – the thought of turning it into some sort of intergalactic war zone to make TV shows is horrifying.

The set is massive, with great big buildings on it alongside loads of heavy duty machinery coming and going – it’s just totally out of keeping with the countryside vibe here and people are up in arms about it.”

But for ‘Star Wars’ fans it’s a bit exciting to see such a big set. I’m always happy to see actual sets over CGI ones.
‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ is definitely moving forward, but we probably wont’ see it until next year.
