Disney has just announced a new night-time show for Walt Disney World called ‘Disney Enchantment’ and we finally have an opening night for “Harmonious” as well!
The 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World is quickly approaching and with it we have the announcement of a new show and the final opening of a long postponed one. Both will debut on October 1 at the kick off of the 18-month, 50th Anniversary celebration.
Over at the Magic Kingdom Disney will unveil it’s brand new night-time spectacular ‘Disney Enchantment.’
“Created to launch with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” this evening extravaganza will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.”
So think the Castle projection show on a much larger scale!
The massive new projection project is not much of a surprise. In fact Blog Mickey has photos of projectors that were hidden in the upstairs windows of Main Street U.S.A. for testing. Then disappeared.
Over at EPCOT we will finally get to see the debut of ‘Harmonious’ on October 1st.
This show has been a long time coming.
‘Harmonious’ is the show they have all those barges set up with in the middle of World Showcase Lagoon. The ones that kind of look like crap during the day and block the views?
At least with Illuminations, the barges came out and were put away.
It’s so odd as Disney goes out of their way to hide anything that would be considered “backstage” type of things. Then these are just there.
The show looks pretty though.
Here’s the write-up:
“Joining “Disney Enchantment” on Oct. 1 will be “Harmonious” at EPCOT, one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park. This new show will bring the globe together at World Showcase Lagoon in a celebration of Disney music that inspires people worldwide. It’s a grand, powerful tribute to the stories and songs that unite us, embracing new technical magic that incorporates pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, lighting and media in new ways. “Harmonious” will invite you to travel the globe through new interpretations of classic Disney songs as you’ve never heard them before, reimagined in more than a dozen languages by a diverse group of 240 artists from around the world.”
“New interpretations of classic Disney songs….reimagined” Oh great!
Hopefully this new show will hopefully be completely worth the daytime eyesore and their reimagining will resonate with fans and not be so far removed that it turns people off.
Fingers crossed!
These new shows will debut on October 1 at The Magic Kingdom and EPCOT in Walt Disney World.
