Gentle Giant will be releasing three new statues this coming June. These will include Boba Fett on his throne, Luke Skywalker with Grogu, and Luke as he appears in The Empire Strikes Back.
The Boba Fett statue looks good, but not nearly as excellent as the Iron Studios one we covered months ago. That one came with Fennec and is priced the same, too. For $350, I’m expecting more than this, honestly.
Meet the new boss! Having disposed of Bib Fortuna™ and taken over Jabba’s palace in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Boba Fett™ is ready to take on all comers in his next adventure! Measuring approximately 12.6 inches wide and 9.4 inches tall, this statue of Boba Fett on Fortuna’s throne features high-definition digital sculpting and hand-painted details. Limited to only 1000 pieces, it comes packaged in a full-color box with a hand-numbered certificate of authenticity.
Empire Luke is part of the Mini Bust line, which means he is the more affordable of the three statues ($120). The best features Luke from the waist up, and he can either brandish his lightsaber or blaster. I’m not sure who’s face this is on Luke’s body, though. That doesn’t look like Mark Hamill. It looks like someone who would fit better in with the Battlestar Galactica’s original series.
The long wait is over! With his blaster at the ready, Luke Skywalker prepares to face Darth Vader for the first time in this highly anticipated mini-bust. Standing approximately 6 inches tall, this 1/6 scale mini-bust features detailed sculpting and paint applications and comes packaged in a full-color box. Limited to only 3000 pieces, it comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
The best out of the bunch is Luke with Grogu from the finale of The Mandalorian‘s second season. Luke’s face needs a little bit of a tweak. He’s looking weirdly tan. But, honestly, we’re all here for the little Grogu. Look at that guy. He’s got his whole life ahead of him with a great Jedi master. Too bad it all gets ruined by Rian Johnson’s cynicism towards Star Wars. This one is priced at $199.
