Previously we wrote that the rumor was the NBA would be coming to Walt Disney World and likely staying at Coronado Springs, but now it seems teams will be in three resort locations.
The word is that the following teams will be located in the following resort hotels:
Coronado Springs Gran Destino Tower:
- Bucks
- Lakers
- Raptors
- Clippers
- Celtics
- Nuggets
- Jazz
- Heat
Grand Floridian:
- Thunder
- 76ers
- Rockets
- Pacers
- Mavs
- Nets
- Grizzlies
- Magic
Yacht Club:
- Blazers
- Kings
- Pelicans
- Spurs
- Suns
- Wizards
Whether or not that is the correct team breakdown, we are hearing from multiple sources that those will be the three resort hotels they will be putting players into.
We are also hearing a lot of information from Keith Smith via Twitter:
Per Walt Disney World Sources: If a team staying at Grand Floridian or Yacht Club stays in the playoffs longer than expected, they may be asked to move. “We’ll cross that bridge when/if we come to it.” Part of Disney’s play is to get rooms back into inventory for paying guests.

Per Walt Disney World Sources: Outside entertainment may be brought in. Those details are being negotiated with the NBA. This could include bands, DJs and comedians.

Per Walt Disney World Sources: Disney will make movies available for players and their families (once they join). This is likely to include movies that have not been released to the general public, including Marvel’s Black Widow.

Per Walt Disney World Sources: All food will be prepared by Walt Disney World culinary teams, with some exceptions. Teams and players may provide private chefs to prepare food. Outside food orders are very limited.

Per Walt Disney World Sources: ESPN Wide World of Sports will be set up as follows:
-HP Field House: Primary Game Court
-The Arena: Secondary Game Court + Practice Courts
-Visa Center: Tertiary Game Court + Practice Courts (may be used only for practices)— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) June 17, 2020
Per Walt Disney World Sources: Any mixing/mingling of NBA teams within each resort or across resorts will be at the discretion of the NBA. Disney will not enforce that.
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) June 17, 2020
Per Walt Disney World Sources: Disney security will be trained to recognize NBA personnel, but will not report on movement. Any movement in/out of the resorts will be tracked by a combination effort of Disney security and NBA security.
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) June 17, 2020
Per Walt Disney World Sources: There is a potential that special access to the theme parks and attractions could be arrange, but will be at the sole discretion of the NBA. It’s likely to happen after families arrive and will be held after hours, following day guests departures.
— Keith Smith (@KeithSmithNBA) June 17, 2020
Per Walt Disney World Sources: Access to the ESPN Wide World of Sports will be limited to only those who have NBA and MLS clearance and working Cast Members. Essentially, only those that need to be there will be there.

Again, it’s all subject to change and it’s hearsay for most of it as I’m sure Disney and the NBA want to keep hotels and family stuff on the downlow. So keep that in mind.
