Padme the Tease, the Jedi chain-yanker, the temptress of Naboo, has a new statue. As seen during the battle on Geonosis, the statue of the former princess is clad in her skin-tight white outfit that has been strategically torn apart thanks to the large nexu in the arena.
This portrayal of Padme Amidala stands at 9″ tall and is limited to 3,000 pieces. So $175 is the price for this Jedi-teasing tart. It isn’t clear when the ship date is, but you can pre-order her now through Gentle Giant.
A Gentle Giant Ltd. release! All hail the Queen! Nabooan queen-turned-Senator Padme Amidala charges into battle in this new Premier Collection sculpture from the artists at Gentle Giant Ltd.! Wielding a blaster as she escapes from her chains in the arena on Geonosis, this statue of Padme features the likeness of Natalie Portman and stands approximately 9 inches tall. Limited to only 3000 pieces, it comes packaged in a full-color window box with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
If you can’t tell, I’m not a fan of Padme as a character. Maybe it was George Lucas’s directing or Natalie Portman’s acting. Either way, the character felt underwhelming, and I couldn’t understand any romantic connection she had with Anakin. Oh, and she died of a broken heart like some 18th Century poet.
Poor Anakin. Had he not been so whipped by this Intergalactic 6/10, the Empire may have never gained the foothold it had after the Clone Wars. Yup, I blame Padme for everything terrible that happened in the Prequels. If she’d shown some backbone against the Trade Federation, we’d still have Qui-Gon, literally the best Jedi the franchise had seen in thirty years.
To be fair, she was more engaging in the Clone Wars series. But, then again, nearly everything was better in that show.
