Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort this year can look forward to the Halloween fun happening at the new Oogie Boogie Bash including a new nighttime spectacular and amazing merchandise!

This new ticketed party will take place in the Disney California Adventure Park on select nights (Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays) from September 17 until Halloween on October 31st. Right now the only night sold out is September 26, 2019. You can get your tickets HERE.

The Disney Parks Blog has offered some first looks at this brand new offering and it looks pretty cool actually!

“Oogie Boogie (from “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas”) weaves a Halloween tale about a young girl (and all-new character created by Disney animator Eric Goldberg) named Shelley Marie.
In “Villainous!,” Shelley has a decision to make about her Halloween costume for this year, and finds herself wondering if she could really be as strong and unique as some of her favorite Disney villains. This twisted tale carries Shelley on an unforgettable journey through devious encounters with The Queen, Ursula, Dr. Facilier, Hades, Jafar, Maleficent and more.

The story reminds me of that old Disney Sing-a-long video Happy Haunting: Party at Disneyland. There were three kids who were trying to find their perfect Halloween costumes and there were songs that kind of “inspired” the costumes. That is what this new show reminds me of a bit.

Does anyone else remember this video? My kids used to watch a DVD copy we had from it’s re-release in 2006 all the time.

Merchandise

Now to talk about one of my big Disney weaknesses….Merchandising! The Disney Parks Blog has given us a sneak peek of the upcoming Event merchandise!

“In addition, choose between four exclusive event collector pins to dress up your haunting garb! Also, be sure to sip your brew in style with the light-up Oogie Boogie Bash Sipper. You can find these items and more at Elias and Co. and Gone Hollywood in Disney California Adventure park.”

Special Treats

Of course what is any Disney event without specially themed treats? This party is no exception.  On top we have an Oogie Boogie sweet funnel cake fries dish and on the bottom is a special party beverage with dice glow cubes (nice touch on the dice Disney.)

I love this light-up Oogie Boogie Sipper Cup! It’s so cute!

Make sure you get your tickets soon if you would like to attend. These events do tend to sell out at Disneyland.

Disney has been a big part of my life for years--from family trips to WDW to growing up on Disney classics, TV, and movies. Prior to Pirates and Princesses I successfully ran social media and websites since 2010. I've also been a public speaker and presenter since 2007. I'm the co-host for the YouTube channel Clownfish TV as well as the podcast/ Youtube Pirates and Princesses (PNP) channel. Former contributor, online personality and acting social media manager at The Kingdom Insider (which we built from the ground up and ran from 1997-2019 --Thom didn't quit FYI) Pirates and Princesses was started by my husband and I several years ago. We loved Disney and wanted to honestly cover all aspects from pop-culture to the parks from a consumer focused stance. Living OUR happily ever after getting to do what we love with our two kids! Creating fun content and building new things. Certified art teacher, and mom. Opinions are all mine.
