It looks like Marvel is shifting movie releases again and Sony is on board. This time the movies being shifted are Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder. Marvel/Sony also moved Spider-Man 3.
Officially, Marvel announced new release dates for:
Spider-Man 3 – Nov 5, 2021
Doctor Strange 2 – Mar 25, 2022
Thor 4 – Feb 11, 2022 pic.twitter.com/YrlWZhSica

Thor: Love and Thunder actually got shifted a week sooner with the new release date being February 11, 2022. Previously it was February 18, 2022. Maybe they wanted it to be a Valentine’s Day movie?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is has been pushed back, again. Now it’s coming out March 25th, 2022. It was set to hit theaters on November 5, 2021. This was the only one my son actually wanted to see.
Spider-Man 3 (no title yet) by Sony and Marvel is now releasing on November 5, 2021. Originally it was set to release on July 16, 2020.
As one person pointed out on Twitter this is putting 4 films out within 147 days. Disney has said that they worried “brand fatigue” was an issue for Star Wars, but they now need to worry about it being an issue for the MCU.
Some are only being released 6 weeks apart!
2022 is bonkers.
Marvel Studios has 4 films currently releasing in a span of 147 days.🚨

I get that they need to recoup expenses and I understand that the COVID-19 shut-downs have pushed everything back, but I’m not sure who this is going to play out in the long run.
