If you were to ask who was Marvel’s most popular super hero you would most likely hear the name Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. A young collage kid with incredible powers must balance his private life with keeping the people of New York City safe.

And one of the most popular couples in all of Marvel Comics is between Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. While Peter’s first major love interest was arguably Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane was seen as the more popular of the two. She eventually became the main love interest after Gwen Stacy’s death at the hands of the Green Goblin.



After years of dating, the two were eventually married in the world of the comics. Nothing would be able to split these two apart… Except for the infamous 2007 comic Spider-Man: One More Day, where the demon Mephisto agrees to let Peter’s Aunt May live in exchange for his marriage to Mary Jane be erased. 



For decades, fans have been begging Marvel to reverse the decision, to bring Marvel’s power couple back together. But these pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Especially recently when it was revealed that Mary Jane was now married to another man and had children with him, this decision was not received well at all.

Now, after years of fans asking, Marvel is finally bringing Peter and Mary Jane together again… but not in the way you may like it. Marvel recently announced that they are reviving their Ultimate Marvel imprint, an alternate timeline where the stories are more mature and is the universe that the MCU was based on.



Marvel has announced a new series called Meet the Parkers, which features an older Peter and Mary Jane with their son and daughter. It is highly likely that their children would also have their father’s spider powers. We will learn all about this version of Peter’s family in this new series.

While it is nice to see them back together here, some fans may see it as a tease from Marvel since they’ve known for 16 years fans have wanted the decisions of One More Day to be reversed. We will have to wait and see if this new universe family is one fans will enjoy.



The series is set to debut in January of next year. While it isn’t exactly what fans would have wanted, it is a much better alternative to the mainline Marvel universe stories that we have been seeing in the current comics.
