The Mardi Gras announcements continue to roll in from Universal Orlando. Mardi Gras happens this year from February 5th until April 24th.  Though we know some of the dining options guests may enjoy within the park, we are waiting on the official full line-up.

Yes, we know beignets and traditional New Orleans style food will be served in park. In addition, a Vegan Samosa with spicy green chutney appears for the Indian themed food area. Coconut Curry Shrimp also will be offered at Southeast Asian themed food spot. While we wait on full food announcements in park, Universal Orlando gave us the full line-up of food and beverages found at their resort hotels.  I will highlight the food offerings. There exist alcoholic beverage options as well. For more detail, you can find this at Universal Orlando’s website.

The value level Endless Summer resorts created New Orleans BBQ Shrimp and Dirty Rice this year. For the seasonal event, these resorts also offer Dockside Beignets for your sweet tooth.

Portofino Bay Hotel chefs devised several fine dining seasonal opportunities. For example, guests may enjoy Creamy Polenta Shrimp. The description of this reads jumbo shrimp, chorizo sausage, Cajun sauce, and creamy polenta. Diners will find this dish at Trattoria del Porto. Also found there will be a Masquerade Cannoli.

Nearby, Hard Rock Hotel delivers some fine dining of its own. The Velvet Bar serves an Abita Amber Ale Shrimp. This meal builds from gulf shrimp lightly sautéed in creole garlic butter and Abita Amber Ale.  Guest visiting The Kitchen may enjoy a N’awlins Po’ Boy. Description indicates sandwich is piled high with crispy fried shrimp. In addition, The Beachclub designed some Muffuletta Sliders for guest to purchase. If these sliders taste anything like one served in park last year, guest will enjoy these.

Moving on, Royal Pacific Resort provides some seasonal food also. The Island Dining room will serve King Cake Pancakes, Also, the Tuk Tuk Market will tempt guests with a Chocolate Bomb. These “bombs” use chocolate and caramel with spiced pecan to create a themed Mardi Gras treat complete with Mardi Gras decorations.

Sapphire Falls Resort offers two Mardi Gras food items. Amatista Cookhouse will dazzle guests with an Andouille Sausage and Pulled Chicken. This menu item comes with queso fresco empanada and a Cajun aioli. New Dutch Trading Company provides your Traditional King Cake needs.

Cabana bay Beach Resort continues the trend of Mardi Gras items. Galaxy Bowl meets your Shrimp Po’ Boy wishes. Though you may struggle to think a bowling alley in a theme park resort hotel serves good food. However, this place provides surprisingly good food.

Rounding out our list, we visit Aventura Hotel. The rooftop Bar 17 Bistro offers two Mardi Gras items. You find Chicken, Andouille, and Shrimp Jambalaya. For your dessert needs, a mini king cake can be purchased.

Mardi Gras celebration at Universal Orlando continues to impress with their variety of options in terms of food. If you are like me, you will be trying out many of these items next month.
