Since the opening of Toothsome’s Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen, the crowds have been drawn in for sweet treats. This restaurant commonly presides as one of toughest places to get a table at Universal Orlando. As a result, reservations would be recommended.

This themed restaurant often offers specialty seasonal milkshakes. As you may know, Toothsome’s created fame for themselves with their photo worthy milkshakes. The specialty Mardi Gras milkshake clearly earns being photo worthy. Maybe you will be lucky enough to get a photo of your shake with Penelope and Jacques.

Toothsome’s Chocolate Emporium and Savory Kitchen dazzled guests with a Mardi Gras Rhythm & Shake being revealed on February 5th, 2022.  The menu description reads: “Ube Ice Cream with Nutella, Mardi Gras sprinkles, saxophone sugar cookie and a whipped topping.”

This shake costs $16. This price point fits into top of range at Toothsome. You may feel that cost seems high. I agree. However, the Toothsome experience for many involves the milkshakes.

toothsome

If you are unfamiliar with the milkshakes at Toothsome, they are normally two desserts in one. Many of the milkshakes feature pieces of cake or another dessert on top. However, this Mardi Gras shake gave us a saxophone shaped cookie. The menu description calls this cookie a sugar cookie. I found it tasted more like a solid shortbread cookie. The cookie tasted good but not an extravagant dessert like the key lime pie featured on another milkshake offered at Toothsome.

Now for the important part, how did this milkshake taste?

On the good side, I really enjoyed the Ube ice cream within this shake. The ice cream flavor reaches your taste buds in a more subtle fashion. Once again, I loved the Ube ice cream in this milkshake (and some other Mardi Gras food options), The whipped cream, as always was wonderful. The green dye for the whipped cream does not change the taste. Also, the Nutella covered rim with sprinkles looks great. The taste of the Nutella works well with this milkshake. Still, the Nutella creates a mess as you try to eat it off the jar.

Now, this milkshake, like other ones, comes in a collectible type of jar. You will need to decide if this milkshake meets your needs. If you are looking for a themed milkshake with a more subtle flavor not forcing you into a sugar coma, this milkshake could add to your theme park day. If you want an extravagant milkshake, then choose one of the other ones at Toothsome. Either way, let the good time roll this Mardi Gras season.
