News of NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s untimely death via a helicopter crash rocked the world today. Bryant’s 13-year old daughter Gianna was also killed in the crash, and the country is still trying to process this.
Disney CEO Bob Iger expressed his condolences on Twitter today…

A Disney fan, the 41-year-old Bryant often made the news for taking trips to Disney Parks. He had even worked on the animated short “Dear Basketball” with legendary animator Glen Keane, which won an Academy Award in 2017.
Other celebrities that expressed condolences include Barrack Obama and Shaquille O’Neal, according to TMZ.
While a better picture of what exactly went wrong will follow in the days and weeks after this terrible accident, TMZ reports that Kobe “was traveling with at least 3 other people in his private helicopter when it went down [over Calabasas, California]. A fire broke out. Emergency personnel responded, but nobody on board survived. 5 people are confirmed dead. We’re told Vanessa Bryant was not among those on board.”
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
