Building your own lightsaber is something Disney has been offering for awhile but they are going to kick it up several notches at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Savi’s Workshop will host this activity in Batuu.
@cjsummer003 on Instagram posted this preview image! (Give them a follow!)
Here Savi’s “Gatherers” will help you choose the parts you need and give you instructions on building your own lightsabers.
“Gathers usher you into a covert workshop packed with unusual parts, whimsical pieces and miscellaneous memorabilia collected from the far reaches of the galaxy.
Under their guidance, you can construct your very own lightsaber and bring it to life through the power of kyber crystals. Builders beware—you must protect the shop’s secrecy to avoid being discovered by the First Order!”
Choose from four different hilt themes ( and receive a cloisonné pin to identify your selection.)
- Peace and Justice
Salvaged scraps from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships in these Republic-era designs honor the galaxy’s former guardians.
- Power and Control
Originally forged by dark side warriors, this style features rumored remnants from the Sith homeworld and abandoned temples.
- Elemental Nature
This theme embodies the Force—an energy created by all living things, like Brylark trees, Cartusion whale bones and Rancor teeth.
- Protection and Defense
Hilt materials bear mysterious motifs and inscriptions that reconnect users with the ancient wellspring of the Force.
After you have chosen your theme you can choose your Kyber Crystal.
You can choose from: red, blue, green or violet.
After that’s completed you can assemble your hilt (parts will be provided to match the theme.)
Each box of parts will include:
- 1 hilt
- 4 sleeves (pick 2)
- 2 emitters (pick 1)
- 2 pommel caps (pick 1)
- 2 sets of activation plates and switches (pick 1 set)
(Upon your hilt completion, the Gatherers will take any unused parts and returned to Savi’s inventory, as they are not included with your lightsaber package.)
The final step in completing your lightsaber will be to connect the 36″ lightsaber blade.
Pricing for lightsabers will be $199 and it will come with a carrying case.
Additional customization pieces will be available for purchase at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.
Age Recommendation: 5+
The experience area is limited to the builder and one Guest—at least one person in the party must be age 14 or older
Custom lightsabers are nonrefundable and are not eligible for Annual Passholder or other discounts
The Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers experience is subject to availability and reservations may be required
If reservations are required, late arrivals may not be accommodated
Experience and offerings are subject to change without notice.
This looks so cool! I love it that you can go even further with customization at a different location. Excellent synergy there!
