About a week ago Adam Sandler dedicated his upcoming Netflix movie “Hubie Halloween” to the late Cameron Boyce. Boyce was well known for his Disney Channel roles in “Jessie,” “The Gamers Guide to Pretty Much Everything,” and “Descendants.” But he wasn’t the only one in the cast that came from the Disney Channel.
Two of Boyce’s cast mates from “Jessie” Peyton List and Karan Brar also had parts in the Netflix film. Brar played a high school bully named Deli Mike Mundi and List played a haunted house actor named Peggy.
But wait, there are more Disney alums in the movie. Paris Berelc played Megan, the older love interest for Noah Schnapp, but she was also in the Disney Channel’s “Might Med” and “Lab Rats: Elite Force.”
One of my daughter’s favorite Disney Channel actresses was also in the film– China Ann McClain. She plays Miss Taylor, a teacher at the elementary school. Many of you might recognize her as Uma from the “Descendants” franchise, “A.N.T. Farm” and other Disney Channel shows.
I’m sure many more appeared in Disney shows if you look into it. It’s just nice to see so many familiar faces.
The film is rated P3-13 and it definitely is an Adam Sandler thing, so take that as you will if you think your kids would be interested. Watch it first if they are younger. But if they are fans of the Disney Channel actors I mentioned they might get a kick out of it.
