With a new Star Wars series, we’ve got another new type of Stormtrooper. OK, to be fair, the Purge Trooper isn’t new. Various incarnations of this specialist Imperial soldier have existed throughout the years. However, in the Disney+ Kenobi series, the black-clad Jedi hunters were used sparingly, only showing up in a few scenes throughout the entire season.
Regardless, whenever a new character or armor variant shows up, it gets a toy. It’s no different when it comes to premium action figures like those made by Hot Toys. We spotted the newest version of the Purge Trooper over at Sideshow Collectibles. In the series, it was hard to make out the details of the armor. But, thanks to the shots of the toys, it’s clear that these guys share a lot of similarities with the Death Troopers that follow them in the coming decade.
The Purge Trooper is $235 and should arrive between July and December next year.
Purge troopers are a specialized class of Imperial soldier trained and equipped to assist the Inquisitors™ in hunting down Jedi™ and other Force-sensitive beings who threaten the Empire. Borrowing tactics and methods first used by the Republic soldiers that accompanied Jedi generals during the Clone Wars, this elite group is few in number and keeps out of the public eye.
Here’s what the Purge Trooper will come with:

- Newly crafted Purge Trooper helmet with fine details
- Specially applied black-colored painting on armor with red markings
- Approximately 30 cm tall
- Body with over 30 points of articulations
- Six (6) pieces of interchangeable gloved hands including:
- One (1) pair of fists
- One (1) pair of relaxed hands
- One (1) pair of hands for holding blaster rifle
- One (1) meticulously crafted Purge Trooper armor
- One (1) black-colored and multi-textured fabric under-suit
