Get Neil Patrick Harris on the phone – STAT!
Christmas at Walt Disney World was not nearly as jolly last year due to the COVID pandemic. But today, Disney instantly got fans into the holiday spirit by announcing that Candlelight Processional will be returning to Epcot this holiday season.
The Processional is a long-standing Disney Parks tradition, having started in Disneyland back in 1958. Guests at Walt Disney World have enjoyed the Processional since the park opened 1971. It was performed in Magic Kingdom through 1994, and at Epcot ever since.
According to Disney Parks Blog, Candlelight Processional will return to the America Gardens Theatre starting November 26, and will run through December 30. It will once again feature a live orchestra, cast choir, and celebrity narrator retelling the traditional Christmas story in spectacular and heartwarming fashion.
All performers – including Cast Members, musicians, singers, and narrators – will be required to be fully vaccinated. As a result, Disney is not planning to host choirs from different community groups and schools. Instead, the choir will be expanded to include additional Cast Member voices.
Disney hopes to once again invite guest choirs next year.
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas…
